Biography Henry J. Kaye, CIC
Henry J. Kaye CIC, of Amherst, N.Y., is past president of the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. He currently is associated with Scott Danahy Naylon Co., in Williamsville, N.Y.
As an active member of the association, he served as president in 1992-1993 as first vice president in 1991-1992 and as vice president from 1987-1990. Kaye also has served as chair of the Company Relations, Membership and Nominations committees. He has been involved in numerous committees including Executive; Convention; Budget and Finance; Long-range Planning; Government and Industry Affairs; PIANYPAC; Bureau Liaison; Residual Markets; Consumer Ad Hoc; Bylaws, Awards and Resolutions; and Agency Sales and Marketing. Additionally, Kaye is a member of Bank Regulation: Agents' Committee Effort (BRACE).
In industry affairs, Kaye served as chair of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents President's Advisory Board, which is made up of representatives of statewide affiliates of PIA National. He also served as chair of the Producer Advisory Council, Commercial Union-NYS. He also has served as president of the Insurance Club of Buffalo and the Western New York Fieldmen's Association. In 1989 Kaye was named Insurance Person of the Year by the Insurance Club of Buffalo Inc. at the club's Buffalo Insurance Day (I-Day) program. He also has been inducted into the Western New York Insurance Softball Hall of Fame.
In 2005, he was honored by the nationally renowned Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for serving the industry for more than a decade. He also served for six years on the CIC National Board of Governors from 1996 to 2002.
In his community, he volunteers for the Erie County Special Olympics and director of volunteers for the local and state games.
An alumnus of Canisus College, he has served as president as well as founder of its Cage Club.
