The site is currently being advertised on several search engines and by my networking connections. Through the Tonawanda's Chamber of Commerce conduit, I put the website name out there. I am currently reaching out to accountants, insurance brokers, realtors and builders to get the name out there as well.
I am creating a local brand for local borrowers rather than a national website like Lending Tree, keeping the revenue from mortgages local, to be passed on to local professionals.
Lending Tree sells their leads to hundreds of hungry brokers and loan officers across the country, who then send the deals to several banks, who all pull credit and lower the broker's FICO score every time they take an application. Then depending on the ability of the loan officer, who most likely has little training, there is about a 1 out of 10 chance the loan will close, and the borrower has shelled out money for appraisals, application fees and then gets the shaft.

I then call and screen the borrower, using my expertise and point them in the direction they need to go in in order to get the easiest, fastest, cheapest process, with the best professional that suits their particular situation. I then collect a fee from the broker if there is an application taken by the broker or loan officer. I also stay in touch with the borrower to make sure they are being treated well by the broker. Up to that point it is free for the borrower, when they start working with the broker all fees go to them. I also refer the appraiser, the attorney, realtor and the insurance agent to the borrower. These people have all agreed to treat the client with the utmost respect.
