1.Yearly check ups for your pets are essential.
2.Be sure all vaccinations are up to date
3.In the spring have you dog checked for heartworms and put your dog on heartworm preventative. If you have a cat you may want to check the cat for heart worms also.
4.Check periodically for intestinal Parasites
5. Fleas carry tapeworms and ticks carry Lymes Disease and other tick born blood diseases so be sure you use flea and tick control year around.
6.As a rule of thumb, do not feed your dog from the table scraps can cause Acute Pancreatitis.
7.Dog and cat food that has colors in it can cause allergic conditions in your pets. 8.When walking your pet always keep them on a leash.
9. Always be sure that you can afford the time, and money to take care of your pet. Most pets are social animals and require as much care as a young child.
10. You do not have the right to own an animal…having an animal is a privilege and should be respected as such.
