Cognitive theory is simplistic, of helping people get over their problems of life.
The most important part of cognitive theory is that it is a problem solving tool for people to get to the core issues of their life’s problem. People in general are afraid to look into themselves; they use unconditional love from other people to hide from what really is causing their pain in life. Once you can have your client tell you what the core problem is, and the client is able to face the problem. Then the client will be able to understand there problem, identify the problem, and start to deal with their problem. The client can use the councilor to help themselves, to open the door, on their problem. Once the door is open then the councilor can start to work with the person to identify, and solve the problem in that person live. The person also must develop a self love for themselves first, before they can start the cognitive approach of therapy. Once self love achieved, and the problem is identifying, then the change will being within the client. The key to the cognitive theory is very simplistic to use, but the client must be willing to open that door of their life, have self love to bring about a positive change in ones life.
