Letters on how to save SG-1

A letter to Sci Fi

To MGM, SciFi, and NBC/UNI

I am an avid watcher of the SciFi Network. I have enjoyed your programs for many years. I am contacting you because of your decision not to renew Stargate SG-1 for an eleventh season. During the course of its ten year run it has become my favorite show, one that I always look forward to viewing every week. It would mean a great deal to me, and all other fans of the show, that you would keep Stargate SG-1 a part of your weekly lineup of original programming.

Sincerely,

To MGM, SciFi, and NBC/UNI,

The recent events regarding the cancellation of Stargate SG-1 have caused me to call into question the actions of the officials at the Science Fiction Network. I have been a fan of Stargate SG-1 ever since it premiered on Showtime back in 1997 and I followed it to it’s current home on the SciFi Network. I am appalled at the thought that there will be no more Stargate SG-1 and I plan to boycott your sponsors until you reassess your decision on Stargate SG-1’s cancellation.

I will continue to watch Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, but if Stargate SG-1 is not renewed I will only be watching Stargate Atlantis. To think shows like Who Wants to be a Superhero are still on the air but a show that has made SciFi Network a household name is being canceled just makes me wonder what is going on at SciFi.

Sincerely,

I am appalled at the fact that Stargate SG-1 has been canceled. It’s hard to fathom that you would cancel such a great show. If the problem is money, why don’t you take the money you use to make those B-Movies you show on Saturday and put it towards season 11.

It was real hard on me when I heard that the show was canceled right after the success of the 200th episode. It was just like you were using the show to get your name in the record books as the network that got the show to 200 episodes.

I for one will be boycotting your sponsors and I will write them and let them know why I will no longer be using their products any more. I still will watch the SciFi network, but only the shows, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. As I plan to boycott the other shows.

With Deep Regret,

Letter to Sci Fi

To the SciFi Channel

I am appalled at the fact that Stargate SG-1 has been canceled. Just after the celebration of the recordbreaking 200th episode the world of Stargate SG-1 fans is shaken by the disturbing announcement of the SciFi channel. A great series, maybe the best SciFi show in world’s history is doomed to death by the descision of your network not to renew the show.

I strongly appeal to reconsider the wrong and incredable descision and ask you to renew Stargate SG.1!

It is still time to correct the mistake of canceling the series and to limit the damage both in PR and the number of viewers which directly impacts the financial situation of the SciFi channel.

Do not let the show die that made SciFi become one of the most important cable networks in the US. Make Stargate fans in the US and worldwide happy by ordering the landmark 11th season of Stargate SG-1!

I am deeply saddened to hear that you plan to cancel the popular show Stargate SG-1. I do not understand why you would wish to cancel a show that has been bringing in loyal viewers to you for many seasons, especially after the ratings boost you experienced during the showing of the 200th episode. I have been a fan of Stargate SG-1 since very nearly the first episodes. Your decision prompted me to write this letter in protest at the cancellation of Stargate SG-1 and to inform you that with the last episode of Stargate SG-1, I will discontinue watching your station.

I am pleased that you are keeping Stargate Atlantis for a fourth season, but I feel that the loss of Stargate SG-1 cannot be countered by saving its sister show alone.

I sincerely hope that you reconsider your position on Stargate SG-1’s eleventh season, because I do enjoy watching the other programs you offer, and I would rather that the series continue on than for you to make a decision that, after your post-Stargate SG-1 ratings come in, you may come to regret.

Sincerely,
